About this work
Esther as queen with crown and scepter. Behind her a scene from the biblical story is depicted, the moment when she visits King Ahasuerus and pleads for the Jews. Frame with scrollwork and various animals such as dogs, rabbits and snakes. Two boys hold festoons with fruit. At the top the scrollwork is flanked by two owls and other birds.
