About this work
Medallion with the bust of the "Hoopman van Narheit" (portrait of Alva). In the border with grotesques, under a canopy, a monkey, a woman on a monkey, and a man wrapped in barrels are depicted. Sheet from a series of four sheets with a medallion in a wide border of grotesques with figures, animals, and leafy vines on a dark ground. The border around the medallion and the outer border contain Dutch and French verse lines.
