About this work
Triumphal procession in honor of a new ruler or leader. The ruler is carried in a litter. Soldiers and musicians walk in the procession. The ruler's wife is also visible (C). Other women throw salt and sand at her. There is also a large crowd present. On the sides of the square the people are watching. At D the captain of the army is seen sitting on a chair and watching the procession.
