About this work

The Utina under the leadership of Holata Outina undergo a ritual to celebrate their victory. Scalps of the defeated enemies hang on sticks. Men and women sit in a circle around a dancer; three of them make music with percussion. On the left in the foreground, Europeans are in conversation with the leader Holata Outina.
