About this work
The leader of the people shows a group of Europeans a ritual. A deer is skewered on a stick. The animal is decorated with flower garlands. Men dance in a semicircle around the stick and sing. The image bears a strong resemblance to the worship of the golden calf in Exodus, where now the Jews are replaced by a people from Florida, possibly the Utina.
