About this work
Forest landscape with in the distance a port city and the sea. On the left the devil tempts Christ by asking him to make bread from stones. The devil wears a cap from which roots grow. He holds two stones in his hand and walks with a stick. Below the representation a Latin Bible verse from Matthew 4:4.
