About this work
Christ tells the chief priests, elders and Pharisees the parable of the tenants of the vineyard: "There was a landlord who planted a vineyard and fenced it. He dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to vinedressers and went on a journey." In the background the field can be seen. Letters stand next to various elements in the scene corresponding to the legend in the margin.
