About this work

The disciples of Christ argue among themselves about which of them is the most important. Christ takes a child with him and says to them: "Whoever receives this child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is the least among you all is truly great." Letters stand next to various elements in the scene corresponding to the legend in the margin.
