About this work
The personification Foolish World (Stultus mundanus), helped by False Opinion (Opinio) and the shadow figure Lie (Mendacium) cover the personification Truth (Veritas) with a cloth. Truth is already bound and Lie puts a mask on her. The print has a Latin and a Dutch inscription and is part of a four-part series on the subject of how false opinion brings the world to ruin.
