About this work
A crowd of spectators watches a procession of prisoners accompanied by soldiers and musicians, coming from under an arch. The onlookers, who mostly stand on a higher level (a small hill in the foreground and a statue gallery in the background), make fun of the prisoners by shouting at them and making faces.
