About this work
Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in Spain, in which the Moorish Almohads were defeated by Christian armies led by King Alfonso VIII of Castile. On the left, the Christian army with canon Domenico Pasquali at the forefront holding a triumphal cross, followed by Alfonso VIII and Rodrigo Ximénez, Archbishop of Toledo. On the right, the Almohads, some of whom have fallen and others retreating. Dedication, coat of arms, and four lines of Latin text in the lower margin.
