About this work

From left to right: Praying in a cave outside the city Catherine is lifted up at the ninth hour of the day. Catherine sits on a cloud that floats above a rainbow.; Catherine sees a crucifix in a halo of rays and chastises herself with a chain. Thus she defeats demons that try to tempt her. The demons, in the guise of naked men with wings, flee through a stone gate.; Catherine receives the order habit of Dominic and around them stand four Dominican order founders. In the margin an explanation of the representations in Latin. Third print from a series of twelve with the life and miracles of St. Catherine of Siena.
