About this work
Odysseus and his men sail past an island with sirens, bird-like creatures with women's heads who lured sailors to their doom with their irresistible magical song. Odysseus is tied to the mast of the ship and his men have wax in their ears. Text in Latin in the lower margin. The print originally belonged to book 22 of the Atlas van Rome by Michiel Hinloopen (Schijnvoet book 10).
