About this work
Saint Cecilia stands naked in a pot of boiling oil and looks upward with folded hands. An angel flies above her with laurel wreath and palm branch. Two men show Cecilia the severed heads of her husband and brother-in-law. To the left sits a Roman prefect under a baldachin. In the middle background a statue of Jupiter on a pedestal. Below the print a text in Latin.
