About this work
The myth of Pyramus and Thisbe in an oval. Depicted is the moment when Thisbe sees Pyramus dead on the ground and without hesitation stabs herself with a sword. Probably belongs to an oval representation of the history of Leander and Hero; perhaps this is a medallion engraved on both sides.
