About this work
In the foreground, the son of Shelomit blasphemes the name of God with a curse. This is a violation of the Second Commandment: "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." He is brought before Moses and, as punishment, is stoned (Leviticus 24:10–23). The print has a Latin caption. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
