About this work
A statue of Apollo supported by a tree stump with a snake climbing up it. This statue is known as the Apollo Belvedere because it stood from the beginning of the 16th century in the sculpture garden of the Belvedere, the summer residence of the popes in Rome. A draftsman sits next to the statue.
