About this work

In the foreground, Isaac riding a dromedary. In his right hand, a cross with a banner. On the banner, two shackles as a sign of his voluntary patience. He pulls a cart with attributes of his patience: the ram sacrificed in his place, Abraham's sword, and the sacrificial fire. In the background to the right, the sacrifice of Isaac. The print has a Latin caption of six lines and is part of an eight-part series on the triumph of Patience.
