About this work
The statue of Zeus was located inside the Doric temple of Olympia, on the Greek Peloponnese. It was made around 433 BC by the Athenian sculptor Phidias. To the right of the temple is a statue of Hercules. On the steps in front of the temple, people are worshipping the statue of Zeus. In the foreground on the right, Olympic wrestlers and runners; on the left, one of the winners is being crowned. The print has a Latin caption and is part of a series on the Seven Wonders of the World.
