About this work

An adult man sits kneeling with hands clasped before a table. Together with two veiled women, he worships a scale on which two wings lie. To the left of the man lies a globe with the portraits of various mitres and a crown partially sunk in the earth. Above this, Christ has appeared in heaven, surrounded by angels. A naked man, to the right in the representation led to Christ by the personifications of Religion and Piety, kneels before Christ. Below the representation is a text in Latin, numbered in the left margin: 6. The print is part of a series of allegorical prints on the life of man.
