About this work
The Vestal Virgin Tuccia was accused of adultery but showed her innocence by filling a sieve with water and carrying it without the water leaking out. Tuccia stands at the water's edge to fill her sieve with water, to the right in the background she walks away with the sieve filled with water. In the margin under the scene is a text in Latin, numbered in the lower right: 5. The print is part of a series of prints depicting events from Roman history.
