About this work
Next to Moses stands the bronze serpent, attached to a pole. The Israelites who have been bitten by snakes stand around it and look at it, as a means to stay alive. On the right rear the tent camp of the Israelites. Below a reference to Num. 21:6-9 and the title of the print in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch.
