About this work
On the left, priests carry the Ark of the Covenant. In the middle, twelve men each lift a stone from the bed of the Jordan. Behind them, the Israelites cross the Jordan River. Behind them, the water of the Jordan forms a dam. At the bottom, a reference to Josh. 3:14-17 and the title of the print in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French, and Dutch.
