Announcement of the promotion of Aegidius Le Maistre and the defense of his thesis "Conclusiones Logicae et Ethicae" at the Collège d'Harcourt on 29 August 1663. The French politician Pierre Séguier sits on a throne and points to a scroll of paper bearing a text with a Latin dedication. Justice kneels before him. In the upper left Fame with flags bearing coats of arms on her trumpets. On columns portraits of members of the Séguier family. In the upper right Wisdom fighting Injustice and the monster of Discord. At the bottom a list of the twenty theses to be defended in Latin. Below them two putti carrying the coat of arms of Gilles III (Aegidius) Le Maistre, seigneur de Ferrières.
