Announcement of the promotion of Aegidius Le Maistre and the defense of his thesis "Conclusiones Logicae et Ethicae" at the Collège d'Harcourt on 29 August 1663. The French politician Pierre Séguier sits on a throne and points to a scroll of paper bearing a text with a Latin dedication. Justice kneels before him.
