About this work

In the foreground stand Moses and Aaron, the former with a staff in his raised left hand. Before them, the Israelites pass between the parted waves of the Red Sea (an outflow of the Red Sea) and further through the mountains. On the left in the background, Pharaoh with his retinue is seen being swallowed by the returning water. Below the representation are two lines of Latin text.
