About this work

A woman and a girl look at an album together; several books lie on the table. According to the inscription: 'coiffure' decorated with ribbons of 'fil d'écosse'. Japanese-style jacket of embroidered muslin from the shops of Gagelin. Accessories: earring in the left ear, mittens, low shoes with crossed straps and square toes. Print from the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes (1797-1839).
