About this work
Around a richly set table, the Israelites are having relations with the Moabite women, each holding an idol. Behind them, Israelites bow before an idol in a temple, incited by the pagan women. In a tent camp in the background, it can be seen how Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, kills an Israelite and a Moabite woman with a spear. In front of this, it can be seen how the men of Israel are hanged on poles. Below the print, a reference to Numbers 25:1-8 and the title of the print in six languages.
