About this work
Depiction of a story by the Greek fabulist Aesop: a satyr, visiting a peasant family, is surprised to see the peasant blowing both warm and cold air. He warms his cold hands with his breath, but then blows into the hot soup to cool it. The satyr considers this sorcery and wishes to leave the house.
