About this work
Illustration of a story by the Greek fabulist Aesop: a satyr, visiting a peasant family, sees with surprise that the peasant can blow both hot and cold. He warms his cold hands with his breath, but then blows into the hot soup to cool it. The satyr considers this sorcery and wants to leave the house.
