Allegory on the founding of the Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen in Haarlem on 21 May 1752. Above Minerva with a portrait of the protector William V, in the background a meeting of scientists. Below the sides of a commemorative medal with naked Truth holding a palm branch in her left hand and an olive wreath in her right, with the sun on her head; in the background a view of the city of Haarlem on the Spaarne, at the bottom the coat of arms of Haarlem. Reverse: two women sitting by an altar, representing Religion with a flame on her head and leaning on a Bible, and the Netherlands with a shield and a liberty cap on a spear.
