About this work
A naked young man, sitting in a landscape, who is bitten in his right side by a small panther and in his chest by a snake, which has wrapped itself around his left arm. Behind the young man, another man flees in fear from the attack. In the upper left corner, Amor aims an arrow at the naked man. Below the image, a cartouche with an Italian sonnet in two columns, describing the sorrow of a man abandoned by his beloved.
