About this work

During the hunt, Prince Actaeon catches the goddess Diana and her nymphs bathing. They bathe before a ruin with antique sculptures. As punishment, Diana gives him a set of antlers. In the background on the right, Actaeon, transformed into a stag, is being torn apart by his own hunting dogs. Below the scene, four banners with Italian text.
