About this work

English woman, half turned to the left, wearing a flexible, dark headscarf rolled back around the face and tied under the chin. In the neckline of the bodice in the middle the split of the shirt is visible with a neckerchief over it. Wide 7/8 sleeves with undecorated turned-back cuffs. Plain shawl that is turned back at the front and attached to each other. Foot-length, pleated skirt and long, gathered white apron. Long plain gloves with decorative embroidery. Feather stick fan on a loop at the waist.
