About this work
English woman of standing, in profile to the left, dressed in a dark overcoat and a light underskirt with a scalloped edge. Over the shoulders falls a flat collar, trimmed with lace. Gloves on and in the right hand a feather fan. The hair falls in pipe curls along the head and is twisted into a bun from the back.
