About this work

Woman from Brussels, seen from the back at an angle, turned to the right. A dark, flowing headscarf over the hair with a veil before the face. Double neckerchief, trimmed with strips of lace. Jacket with wide sleeves and pleated skirt over a farthingale. The side seams of the bodice, decorated on the back with strips of lace, which also appear on the forearm. In the right hand a fur muff, handkerchief, and rosary. Copy after 'Nobilis Mulier Brabantica'.
