About this work

Lady, standing in landscape, seen from the back at an angle, to the left, dressed according to fashion of ca. 1620. She wears a bodice with shoulder pads and a large ruff collar on a farthingale. The skirt is turned up. The sleeves are trimmed with projecting cuffs. On her head a hat with high crown and feather; a closed, half-circular fan in the hand. River and village view in the background. Bottom left a lizard.
