About this work
The melancholic temperament, in the guise of a winged woman gazing pensively before her, chin supported on the left hand, a compass in hand. Around her various (measuring) instruments, such as a scale, an hourglass and a saw. At her feet a dog. Next to her a putto writing something on a tablet.
