About this work
Anna in the lying-in bed shortly after the birth of Mary. In the foreground a maid is just putting the child in the bath. In the background right it can be seen how Joachim and Anna meet each other (probably an imagination of the theme 'The Meeting at the Golden Gate'). This print is part of a series of twelve prints with scenes from the Life of Mary.
