About this work

Frontin is married to his beloved Hannchen through the intervention of the devil, whom he served for two years as payment. After only four weeks of marriage, he begs the devil if he can be freed from his wife. The devil demands that Frontin serve him for another two years in return. The unfortunate husband immediately agrees to this. Numbered in the upper right: 2.
