About this work

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Alcest has lost his fortune and ended up in a debtors' prison. His son begs one of the creditors to be merciful to his father. Impressed by the plea, the creditor agrees. Subsequently, he has the son of Alcest marry his only daughter. Thanks to the daughter's dowry, the financial problems are solved. Numbered in the upper right: 9.
