About this work
Pyramus stabbed himself with his sword after he thought that Thisbe had been killed by a lion. Thisbe discovers her dying lover, whereupon she also stabs herself. In the background, the lion with Thisbe's veil. In the margin, a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
