About this work
Ceres asks Triptolemus to sow grain and gives him her chariot drawn by dragons. On the left in the background, the jealous Scythian king Lyncus tries to stab the sleeping Triptolemus with his sword but is turned into a lynx by Ceres. In the margin, a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
