About this work
By the light of two torches, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus lift the body of Christ into a tomb. Mary Magdalene and two other women mourn his death. In the foreground, next to the tomb, lie embalming supplies and some instruments of the Passion. In the background, Golgotha with the three crosses.
