About this work
Top print: grotto with the workshop of Vulcan, drawn by four Cyclopes. Bottom print: carriage from which various classical gods emerge (including Apollo, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury). These prints are part of a series of prints of triumphal chariots, mirror image copies of details from illustrations in a book about the festivities (including a tournament) in the ducal palace in Nancy on 14 February 1627.
