First intermezzo: the giant Typhon under Mount Ischia

Many well-dressed spectators sit on tribunes along the walls of the hall and stand in a semicircle on the floor, around some dancers in the middle. In the background a raised stage on which a large rock among many trees can be seen. Above the image the coat of arms of Florence. Below the image several lines of Italian text. This print is part of a series of three depictions of intermezzi in the play 'La Liberazione di Tirenno, e d'Arnea' by Andrea Salvadori, as performed during the carnival festivities in Florence in 1616.
