About this work
Sheet with 24 depictions from the life of Saartje Jansz. In the first scenes she works as a kitchen maid, but is dismissed because she uses too much of the expensive peat for cooking. Afterwards she becomes a soldier. Below each image a two-line verse. Numbered top right: No. 21.
