About this work

Fourth part (bottom right) of a representation of hell as an enclosed, tiered pyramid, with Satan at the very top devouring souls of sinners, and on the layers below him many damned who are tormented by devilish creatures and fire pits. In the bottom right corner outside the pyramid: a rock. Here and there in the image explanatory texts in Latin, among others of various sins. Below the image (part of) the coat of arms of the Medici and a framed text in Italian.
