About this work
The angel Gabriel with in his hand a lily announces to Mary the birth of Christ, while she kneels on a prayer stool, with before her a book. Top left a cloud formation with therein the dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit and a beam of light with a line of text in Latin. Below the image two columns of three lines each in Latin.
