About this work
Allegory on the installation of Prince William V as hereditary stadtholder at the age of eighteen on 8 March 1766. In the center the prince seated on his throne, on the right Hercules defeats the serpents and on the left stand the assembled seven virtues. Above the throne flies Fame and reveals Father Time seven cherubs with a large laurel wreath, on the right Abundance bestows riches. In the foreground the Dutch Lion. Numbered at the top: VII.
