About this work
Allegory on the struggle between the True Faith of the Bible-believers and the false clergy. The clergy has different forms. Apart from the human form they are also depicted as foxes, dogs, pigs and in the background as a group of wild animals. In the middle the hunt is made on the Stag of the Old and New Testament, which symbol stands for the Bible-believers. Left drinks a stag from the fountain of God's word and right drinks a stag from a self-dug well, or a self-constructed doctrine of faith.
